This cameo brooch can be used as a pendant given the generously sized loop at centre back  currently used for the safety chain. It measures approximately 37 mm tall.
The design is unusual in that the scalloped skirt surrounding the cameo is a matte finish whereas the remainder is highly polished. It has a complete but unobtrusive set of Birmingham hallmarks on the outer side to which the head is facing.
