The Brisbane Telegraph newspaper (known locally as "The Telly") was first published on the 1st October 1872 and last on 5 February 1988. during which time it had established a reputation as one of the best news pictorial newspapers in the country.
It hit the streets in the early afternoon, and the "paper boy" sellers on foot in the city could be heard to call out "Paper...Telly...City Final!!)
